Poppy Viewing (March 28, 2010)

My favorite flower in the world is the California Poppy. It's so bright and happy. I'm sure you've noticed them around as they've been blooming everywhere. A few Sundays ago, Jason and I decided to go visit the Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve. With all the rain we've been getting this year, I knew there would be wonderful carpets of orange.

My mom also loves wildflowers, so we invited her (dad had a meeting) and drove off after church.

It took about an hour to get there. We took the 210 to the 5 to the 14 toward Lancaster. We got off Avenue I and after a few miles we passed by a (closed?) state prison!

A few miles later, we started seeing patches of bright orange on the sides of the road. They were gorgeous. We finally arrived at the park to this:

This is my mommy :)
We decided to hike to the top of a hill to get a better view.

Jason's stroll :)
Here are some cool close-ups Jason took of the flowers we saw!
We finally made it to the top and had a photo shoot. Taha

Just kidding. But we did take photos :)

Then we left the reserve and went into some random field to take pictures with the poppies :)

The end :)
